Grand Opening Gannaiden: Sculpture Garden of Possibilities
In collaboration with the Musée régional de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, Gannaiden: Sculpture Garden of Possibilities opened to the public on Aug. 27, 2017 with a celebration, a guided tour of the new sculpture garden and a luncheon.
Lunch at the Gannaiden opening retained the same family traits as it has had for the past 27 years. When the family celebrates an occasion, a meal of traditional foods is always the centrepiece. Family members of all ages help by bringing the food to the table where they serve each other regardless of their status outside the home. No meal is complete without raising a glass of wine in a toast and saying l'chaim to life.
To honour sculpture as the medium of Marcel Braitstein, cocktails were created in a three-dimensional format. Pop Culture serves up gin and tonics and martinis to guests.
Michel Vallée and Céline Chartier chat while Céline Séguin looks on.
Over eighty people mill around in front of Braitstein’s studio, nibbling tidbits of gefilte fish and karnatzel and sipping shots of borscht served by Diana McDougall Deakin, wearing a smashing red dress.

Heading up a table of close friends are Dr. Vladimir Kurgansky and his wife Helen.
Mayor Guy Pilon spoke enthusiastically about Braistein’s sculptures. France Lavoie enjoys the moment.
Clockwise around the table are Jamie Nichols, Miri Tabori, Mary and Peter McBride, Elizabeth Morgan and back view of Madeleine Hodgson.
